Bilateral activity of the SK-Climate Programme for primary and secondary schools in Norway (NORWAY STUDY TOUR)

The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, as a Programme Operator of the “Climate change mitigation and adaptation“ programme, (hereinafter also as “Programme SK-Climate”), financed from two mechanisms – EEA financial mechanism and Norwegian financial mechanism in the program period 2014-2021, informs you as it follows: The Programme Operator in close cooperation with the Donor Programme Partners from the contributing states, (which are the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) and the Norwegian Environment Agency (NEA)), organize an event/study trip called "Study Tour" for the sustainable development of the bilateral partnership for the project promoters within the Call titled as ClimaEdu.

The bilateral activity is intended for primary and secondary schools of already implemented projects promoters within the Call ACC03.

The main goal is to develop and support sustainable bilateral partnerships between Slovak primary and secondary schools and selected schools from Norway in the field of mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

Date and place of the bilateral activity:

1. First term: May 9 - 11, 2023, OSLO (3 days)

2. Second term: May 22 - 24, 2023 OSLO (3 days)                     

The working language of the activities including the accompanying programs will be English.    

Eligible participants:

The target group of the event are the eligible promoters under the Call “ClimaEdu” in accordance with the Annex 3 of this Announcement. The participants of the event should be representatives/teachers of the school or the project manager of the implemented project within the SK-Climate Programme and maximum two pupils/students of the school over the age of 15, together 3 participants per school.

Participants should be prepared to present the implemented activities and measures within their approved project under the Call ClimaEdu at the event in English language. Norwegian schools will present their school according to the program of the event. 

Financing:

This event will be financed from the fund for Bilateral Relations, the Programme Operator reserved funds for the participation of max. 60 representatives of Slovak schools in two dates (maximum 30 participants for 1 term). Participants will be reimbursed and/or provided through an advance payment for travel costs, accommodation costs in accordance with the sample agreement on cooperation and refund of flat-rate compensation. The activity will be implemented in accordance with the Guideline for the Bilateral Fund. Each school/ project promoter under the Call ClimaEdu can nominate maximum of three participant for the study trip.

Registration rules and deadline for registration:

For the purposes of registration, it is necessary to fill out the Registration form in English using the predefined form published as an Annex 2 in this announcement and send the signed, scanned form by e-mail to the address . When sending the registration form, it is necessary to indicate the preferred date of the event in the subject of the e-mail:

For the first, term "Registration – Norway Study Tour - 1/2023".

In addition, for the second term "Registration – Norway Study Tour - 2/2023".

Interested parties will be informed about the results of the selection of applicants by e-mail no later than April 18, 2023

Due to the fact that the number of places is limited, the Programme Operator reserves the right to select applicants based on the information provided in the registration form, taking into account the order in which the registration forms were delivered to the so-called "FIFO system" - first in first out.
